Katun Potoci lies at the edge of Biogradska Gora National Park, close to glacial lakes and primeval beech forests. Footpaths lead from the old shepherd’s settlement toward Biogradsko Lake, the upper ridges of Bjelasica, and hidden lakes, passing endemic dwarf pine, yellow gentian and Balkan lilies. Trails also connect to nearby katuns still used by seasonal herders.
Life at the Dulović household centers on wood: cottages are heated by wood burning stoves, and fences are built without nails using traditional techniques. Guests can join in beehive making, fence repairs or berry gathering, and taste local specialties such as rare black pine cone syrup, homemade jams, cheeses, herbal teas and honey from the household’s own hives. Evenings bring mountain chill, resin scented air and star filled skies, broken only by the crackle of the stove and the call of an owl.
