Tara National Park is one of Serbia’s most beautiful forested regions, known for its rich biodiversity, deep valleys, and panoramic viewpoints over the Drina River. The park is dominated by dense coniferous forests, creating a habitat for rare wildlife species and unique mountain landscapes.
Throughout history, the area has preserved traces of traditional mountain life, including wooden cottages, old villages, and cultural landmarks that reflect the strong connection between people and nature. Trails across the park guide visitors through forests, ridges, and protected zones.
Today, Tara National Park is a major nature destination, offering hiking, wildlife observation, and spectacular views such as Banjska Stena. Its pristine environment and cultural heritage make it one of the signature natural areas of the Danube Wood(s) Route.
