Crna Poda lies between Mojkovac and Žabljak along the Tara River, home to centuries-old black pine trees rising over 40 metres high, some of them over 400 years old. As one of the largest and best-preserved stands of Pinus nigra in Montenegro, it is protected within Durmitor National Park. A scenic road passes through the forest, offering close views of this rare ecosystem. Crna Poda remains a symbol of the endurance and beauty of Montenegro’s ancient forest heritage and a key stop on the Durmitor section of the Wood Route.
